LTO for New Release
Q: How long does it take to process the registration and plate number?
A: If the CSR [Certificate of Stock Reported] is available, only one (1)
week is needed to process the registration and plate number (if requested,
chosen ending number is also available.) back to top Will I still be apprehended even if you have issued a certification?
A: Yes, it is possible because of the NO PLATE, NO TRAVEL policy. But
you are exempted during the first (1) week after the release of the
unit. back to top Q: Why do I hear of cases wherein the
processing of registration took so long (like a month or so)?
A: Because it does happen. The delay in CSR is the frequent cause but once
the CSR is available, processing of registration only takes a maximum
of one (1) week. back to top Q: Why do you release the unit without the
availability of CSR (Certificate of Stock Reported)?
A: This is due to the usual 2-week processing of the CSR.back to top Q: How long does it take for me to get the CSR?
A: There is no definite time as to when the CSR will be available.back to top Q: For plate numbers with extension, why
does the LTO have to extend the registration like 3 1/4 and 3 1/2 years?
A: This is done in order to coincide with the requested plate ending
numbers and the renewal of registration. back to top Q: Do I have to shoulder the expense for extensions of registration?
A: Yes, because it is part of the LTO registration for your car.back to top Q: Why is it that the amount on the
official receipt of the registration does not tally with the amount that you charged me?
A: Because the amount on the official receipt of the registration is not
the only expense the dealership has incurred during registration. back to top Q: Isn't it that only the original certificate of
registration will be forwarded to the financing company for
financing transactions? Why is it necessary for both the original
certificate of registration and official receipt to be sent to the company?
A: Because the financing company requires that the first official receipt
of registration be forwarded to them. back to top Q: Will we still be apprehended if we use the unit without the plate number, only the certificate of registration?
A: Yes, because of the NO PLATE, NO TRAVEL policy.back to top LTO for Renewal of Registration Q: How much is the cost of renewal of registration?
A: Get the total amount on the official receipt of registration plus the
amount paid for the Smoke emission test, third party liability [TPL] and
the processing fee. back to top Q: Why does my car have to undergo the
smoke emission test even if it is less than a year old?
A: Because it is one of the requirements during renewal of registrationback to top Q: Isn't it that the smoke emission test is only for the old models?
A: No, all units must undergo smoke emission test during renewal of registration.back to top Q: Isn't it that the registration now is good for three (3) years?
A: No, the 3-year registration is only for brand new units.back to top |
